Prince George’s, County, Md.— Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, Incorporated® receives recognition at the 89th  North Atlantic Regional Conference (NARC) in Hartford, Conn. on March 7, 2020. The chapter won second place ‘Chapter of the Year’ for large chapters and the ‘Pretty is as Pretty Does - A Reflection of Sisterhood’ award.

“It was such an honor to win these two very competitive awards that highlight the chapter’s community service in Laurel, Bowie, and Greenbelt,” said Benita Swindell, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter President.

The ‘Chapter of the Year’ is a highly coveted award that recognizes chapters which have excelled in effective chapter operations, promoting sisterhood, implementation of international and local programs of service, visibility and recognition in the community and chapter growth.

“Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter exceeded this award criteria due to its strong and effective leadership and an unwavering commitment to serving the communities of Laurel, Bowie, and Greenbelt,” added Swindell. “The ‘Pretty is as Pretty Does - A Reflection of Sisterhood’ award is so named because of the belief that what we do for others is what makes us beautiful.”
